I use Facebook a lot. Should I get this? Does anyone else have it? Pros vs Cons?

I also use Facebook a lot also.
I have never used it or installed this extension. One reason is I have my Facebook pretty much locked down and monitor it myself. I see very few ads, maybe one every couple weeks at most and those that do show up I block them immediately.
More permissions than I want to allow. It is a personal choice of course.

Thanks for the info. I agree its more permission that I want to allow too. I'll give it a pass as well.

Thanks for the info. I agree its more permission that I want to allow too. I'll give it a pass as well. This extension certainly isn't new, its first release was in March, 2018. So it has been available for quite awhile. I have received "suggestions" from Mozilla to add to my Firefox with each new update of the extension. But I have always passed. Lots of folks do use it and I don't know if any of our members here use it. If so perhaps they would weigh in with their comments.
Like I said, I have my Facebook pretty much locked down with my own settings there. I use very strict Privacy settings with views of my pages limited to Close Friends only. The only way I interact with ads is to block them, I don't allow ads based on data partners of Facebook or ads based on Facebook products from other web sites and I never like a page that is running an ad either. I have never made a purchase on Facebook and doubt that I ever would either. This includes requests for funds for some sort of charity. If I give to a charity I go directly to the charity page.
If people pay attention they really can "police" themselves and their Facebook options and uses.

Just for curiosity, I looked and I have it and it is turned on. I don't download things like this so I am guessing/assuming that it came with one of FF frequent updates

Recent updates gave information about this on the opening page.. I have just ignored that as I don’t want it because I don’t do extensions. I can not understand how you have this extension without having approved it but if you do not want it you can just disable the extension..

I saw same info with a recent Firefox update and like you I have ignored it. I believe there was an "OK" button in the information shown. I clicked nothing I just "X"ed out of the information tab. Perhaps that would be the way a person would get an extension without realizing it because I have never seen extensions that are installed without the user's ok.
