On my puter that died I was able to hook up an HDMI cord to a TV. On this new one it doesn't work. Is there a setting somewhere that I need to set it up? Thanks DICK

What happens when you connect the hdmi cable to the tv? Same question here. We need lots more information. You shouldn't need any special setting on the computer to do this just be sure that the TV is set to HDMI as the input source.
If your output does not automatically adjust, then on the computer go to “Control Panel” —> “Display” —> “Adjust Resolution” —> and select “TV” in the “Display” drop-down menu.

Usually you have to use one of the "F" keys to transfer it to the TV. Different computers use different "F" keys. The FN key will have to be pressed at the same time as the "F" key.

" What happens when you connect the hdmi cable to the tv?" "No signal, Press 'source' to check your source" I have gone thru all the sources and the TV one is the only that shows anything. " be sure that the TV is set to HDMI as the input source. It is. If your output does not automatically adjust, then on the computer go to “Control Panel” —> “Display” —> “Adjust Resolution” —> and select “TV” in the “Display” drop-down menu. Can't find TV in the display menu. I'll do a print screen of the settings tomorrow.I have a external CD coming today and I can install my photo stuff. I tried to use Paint 3D with no luck.
Thanks DICK

I have 20/20 vision and can hardly read your colored post. Especially the black. I have to highlight it to read it. Please stick to the white like everybody else.
Did you try the "F" keys?

MrBill--Thanks. I knew that but never helps to get a reminder.
How recently did you use this HDMI cable with your old computer and tv? These cables do go bad you know. 2 or 3 days before we got the new one. I tried a different cable with same results. I'll check out your links now. I'm going to take it back and let them figure it out. Many Thanks & Happy New Year!!! DICK

Finally got out to buy a new HDMI cable. Turned on puter & TV and it was working. Didn't need the new cable. I guess it's like bringing your car to a mechanic--it never acts up when you are there!!!!! Thanks all DICK
