I use an password manager. I use long, strong passwords, 16 characters. If I have the password manager set to enter my username & password automatically is this a security issue?

My gut answer is that it should be OK. However you did not tell us what password manager you are using. There are hundreds of password managers out in the world some good and some not so good. Which one do you use?

I use an password manager. I use long, strong passwords, 16 characters. If I have the password manager set to enter my username & password automatically is this a security issue? That is one of the most recommended password security programs. Keeping the password for the program secure is the secret to assisting with the security it affords users ..... If you use the free version of Last Pass, you will need to decide next month whether you want to use it on a single device (phone, computer, tablet) as they are encouraging users to upgrade to pay versions starting in the middle of March 2021 as free version will only be for one device ...... Reported in various tech publications/sites .... such as: www.bleepingcomputer.com/news/security/lastpass-free-to-force-users-to-choose-between-mobile-desktop/

cybernews.com/best-password-managers/lastpass-review/ Everything you wanted to know about Last Pass. I used it for a while some time ago. Decided I don’t need such a program especially as has been proved it is hackable. On a strictly personal level I don’t need one. The small number of passwords I need regularly I remember. All others I save in Password Corral which needs a password to access. I export it regularly in an encrypted form in case my computer crashes so that I may easily import the data into a new version of password corral. I am not sure how secure my method is but sensitive passwords eg for banking are saved only in my head. Hopefully I keep my head !
