Yes, BB. I have an "Overdrive" app that I use for audio books. What I would like is to be able to listen to them on my phone without using earbuds.

Have you previously used the app on the phone, you do have to have an active wi-fi connection to use the Overdrive app on a phone, that can use up a lot of data if your plan is limited. help.overdrive.com/customer/portal/articles/1909467#thundercontentType of phone would help people give some advice.

Thanks for your reply. Samsung phone. No you don't have to be online to listen to an overdrive book. Once the app is downloaded all you have to do is locate a book/books you want is download them from library. You get to keep them for 21days. Very nice as you can listen to book while shopping, waiting for Dr. office... I've been using earbuds but they are such a hassle with the cords getting tangled up. I'm off to Dr. right now but will be back this afternoon for any reply. thanks again.

I thought it odd when I read it cause I have been using Overdrive to download books from my library for several years and knew I could read them either on my computer or Kindle & didn't have to be online to read them as long as I downloaded them to the device. I didn't know if things were different with a phone since I don't have a cellphone except one used for travel. I would think if you can use wireless or ear buds on your phone then you could certainly use them to listen to the books. You should check with Samsung to see if wireless ear buds can be used with your phone.

Thanks J. I'll start working on it and will let ya know. Back to square one.. nothing. Not sure what you mean. You do need to be more forthcoming with your information if you want help from folks. Just saying you are "back to square one...nothing" also tells us nothing. Did you check to see if your phone can use Bluetooth? That is what you have to do. If you cannot find out online then go to whereever it was that you purchased your phone and ask them.

You should be able to pair your phone with whatever bluetooth device you have and listen through the device when you select the book, just as you can with music. There are instructions here for listening in a car but I am unsure if that is what you are trying to do. www.ualibrary.org/mediasrvc/blog/listening-e-audiobooks-your-car

You have never said, Where do you want to listen to your audio books?
No matter where it is, you know you can use a Kindle to do this. I borrow and read library books with my Kindle. I can also listen to audio books on my Kindle if I choose to do so. Have you thought about getting a Kindle?

Thank both of you for your reply. I did check out the ones for connecting to the car radio but that's not what I'm looking for. Yes, J. I've been using both of my tablets and cell phone for listening to audio books for several years now. As to where I use them... in warmer weather I take them outside while working on the deck doing transplanting or just working on driftwood planters. Outside I don't always bother with the earbuds. However, the Dr. office is different. A 2 hour visit with just 30 min of actually seeing Dr. and repeat that 8 times is a lot of earbud time. There are several more times they are useful but you get the idea. Maybe I can stop by Fry's this weekend and see what they recommend. Thanks again..

I think your best bet IS speaking to somebody in person. Be sure to take the phone and tablet with you so that you can get something that maybe would work with both.
