A while back, my File Explorer's background changed to dark. I don't really remember what I was doing that may have changed it, but I'd like to change it back. I've tried settings>personalisation>color to light, but that changed the task bar too light. I only want to change the dark background when I open File Explorer. I'm afraid of messing other things up, so I can live with it,but it is annoying.
Thanks in advance for advice, Mary

Try this Mary In Personalisation/Colours Where it says ' Choose your colour' select Custom. For Default Windows Mode choose Dark For default app mode choose Light Under Choose your accent colourDe-select 'Automatically pick an accent colour from my background' and then select a colour from the Windows Colours chart that you like (or a custom one) Then scroll a bit further and add check marks to 'Start, taskbar and action centre' and 'Title bars and window borders' This is the way I have mine set up and will give you a white background for File Explorer and whatever colour you have selected for the taskbar.
You may want to experiment with the settings.

Sorry for late response, as I haven't been on the computer much.
The problem seems to have resolved itself, but thanks for the advice.
