Looks like an excellent job to me! Well done.
Just as a matter of interest, what software did you use to make the changes?

Thank you Barney. I used Corel Paint Shop Pro X. I have numerous Editors but almost always use this one. It is an old version from about 2005. I used the clone tool, the smudge tool and the push brush. Then a bit of extra softening before replacing the torn top left corner by cloning again.

Everton: I posted last night, but I don't see it. Any way, thank you very much for spending the time on this photo, it is outstanding. I passed it on to my friend, it is a picture of his grandfather and he is trying to find someone that knew him at this age. His mother has never seen him, other than this photo, and she had carried it for years and that is why it is in this condition. He would be in his upper 80's if he was still alive, my friend was trying to find info on him for his mother, as she is in ill health, and thought our home town forum/threads would find something about him, anything to make her days better.
Thank you again, Chuck

Chuck, have your friend do a search for his name on Ancestry.com. There is a fair chance he will find something. Tell him to put in his full name if he knows it, possible birth location if he knows it and approximate age. Any little bit of info helps narrow down the search.
