I can't open FF and can't find any trace of it at all on my puter. I have icons and it's in my program list when clicking the window. I don't have my bookmarks but I remembered this site. Should I download FF again?
Thanks DICK

How long has this been going on? Have you downloaded any other programs prior to this?
Firefox should be located in C:\Program Files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox Have you looked there?

Dick you posted here on April 23rd with Firefox problems. You were given several suggestions including Refresh of Firefox with instructions on how to do this and your final post on May 10th you said;
So have the problems continued since then or were those problems corrected?

Did you reset Firefox as directed in your other thread?
Using the directions found on this page?
If you never did this please do this now.
Also please look for your Firefox Profile folder following these directions;

Did you reset Firefox as directed in your other thread? Yes-nothing changed
Using the directions found on this page?
support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/refresh-firefox-reset-add-ons-and-settings
If you never did this please do this now. Done
Also please look for your Firefox Profile folder following these directions;
support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/profiles-where-firefox-stores-user-data#w_how-do-i-find-my-profile
Went there & saw 3 items, clicked each of them & clicked on "bookmarks" and it showed nothing. Same with the other ones I clicked on. It's like FF is not on puter, just the icons.
It's sure looking like I need to download it again.

When you reset Firefox there should have been a lot of changes, for one thing all of your add-ons should have been removed. Since nothing changed it must not have been done correctly.
Since everything is missing then yes, download it again and only download it from this link;

Spoke too soon. My tabs (using FF) have been crashing. I'm overdue to run scans--MB, CC, etc. So I'll start now! DICK

Can I ask what security programs do you have? Please list them by NAME not lettered abbreviations. Are you running them all the time? The ONLY ONE that should be running all the time is Windows Defender and of course the Windows Firewall. How many tabs do you have open? Give me the names of ALL of the Add-ons and Extensions that you are running. Since you have been having these problems since April, the problem is likely NOT caused by Firefox itself but something else.

Windows Defender & Windows Firewall
How many tabs do you have open? Usually one or two, rarely more.
Extensions: DuckDuckGo Privacy Essentials, Malwarebytes Browser Guard, Web Threat shield.
Add-ons: None
Thanks Judy

Web Threat Shield might be your problem. Since Firefox version 57, which was four years ago, Web Threat Shield was one of many extensions or add-ons that were deemed to not meet current Firefox standards. While temporary fixes were released for persons who did not want to update Firefox that of course is not recommended. You should always run the most up to date version in order to maintain your safety on the web. Current version is 89.01.
This is explicitly for Chrome Browser and Microsoft EDGE browser It is not listed as an available or usable extension for Firefox. You already have two of the best, DuckDuckGo Privacy Essentials and Malwarebytes Browser Guard.
Get rid of that Web Threat Shield that may very well be the cause of all of your problems. That Web Threat Shield is likely fighting against those two best protections you already have.
