My wife received the following message on her Samsung tablet today:
Dear Customer, your icloud storage is full. But, as part of your loyalty program, you can now receive an additional 50 GB for free before the files on your icloud Drive are deleted.
With so many different scams going around I am not sure this is legit. There is a place under the message to click on to get your "FREE" 50 GB that takes you to a sign up page and asks for financial information but says you will not be charged until you exceed the 50 "FREE" I told her to NOT do anything until I checked here.
Has anybody seen this also or are familiar with it?
I think it is a phishing scam but not sure.

This is obviously a scam. iCloud is for Apple products only. In order to even access the iCloud you first must have an AppleID and then use it either on your iphone or Mac. iCloud cannot even be accessed with a Samsung tablet. Your wife's tablet would use the Samsung Cloud. Click that link and find out about using it.

Once again my guardian angel has come to my rescue. We do not have any Apple products so I guess I was right about thinking it was a scam. Jean does already use Samsung Cloud.
Thanks and I bow to you Judy!

This one is doing the rounds www.komando.com/security-privacy/apple-icloud-phishing-attack/881156/#:~:text=There%20are%20a%20few%20versions,50GB%20of%20storage%20for%20free. There seems to be an increasing number of scams about just now. Judy - iCloud can be accessed via a Samsung or any android device by going to iCloud.com but yes of course to use it you must create an apple ID. I access iCloud all the time from my Windows PC.. I have an iCloud drive on my PC, although I do not use it. Anyone using Samsung Cloud would not need it but it is accessible.

I have an iCloud drive on my PC, although I do not use it. Anyone using Samsung Cloud would not need it but it is accessible. Of course you are right and I personally can access my iCloud account that I use with my iPhone via my PC but since Paul's wife uses a Samsung tablet I presumed, maybe wrongly, that she would not be using an iCloud account but would be using the Samsung cloud. While, as you say, iCloud can be accessed on a Samsung device provided you have an Apple ID accessing iCloud on an Android device such as Samsung can have limitations as Apple software is not designed to be compatible with non-apple devices. This scam runs right along those scams where you get a telephone call and the person, allegedly from Microsoft, tells you they have been monitoring your internet use on your computer and the person says they are calling to tell your computer has been hacked....not possible!
