Judy, I remember in the past you recommended Avira as your choice in protection. Am wondering if you still do. I downloaded and installed it yesterday. It just seems to be constantly trying to sell me the paid version. All I wanted was the free. Will they keep pestering me?

Honestly I have not used Avira in years. Ever since I got my Windows 10 computer and now with my Windows 11 computer I use Windows Defender AV & Firewall on both of my computer, they come with your computer, they are excellent and I have had NO problems whatsoever.
I am headed out for an appointment right now but if you have questions just post them here and I will come back here as soon as I have returned home.

I also switched to Windows Defender when I installed Windows 10 and have not had any problems. I do not use Windows 11 or have any plans to install it. I do however have Windows 11 running in a Virtual Box using Windows Defender and it works without problems there.

I am back to Windows Defender. Are there any adjustments I should make or is it set to run as is?

I am back to Windows Defender. Are there any adjustments I should make or is it set to run as is? Really no adjustments needed, just make sure it is fully turned on. It does everything on its own really, updates, scanning, etc. If something is found then you would be notified. I have never had one bit of trouble with it at all and I am confident that I am as safe as can be. It works just fine on both of my computers and I don't even know it is there until I get the notification that it has scanned and found nothing. Can't beat that. By the way, I like both Windows 10 and Windows 11 and frankly I believe I like Windows 11 a little better. It is somewhat different though not as drastically different as some has claimed and the differences are really easy to understand and work with so if you ever get to the point where you need a new computer it of course will come with Windows 11 but really I like it.

Thank you for your help once again. I did a quick scan after I activated Windows Defender again and no problems were found. I was notified sometime ago that my PC can run Windows 11 but am hesitant to do anything until I absolutely have to. Will probably be back here for help when that time comes. Thank you again!
