My personal opinion is no they have not and but others will think the opposite. I use all three - desktop, laptop and iPad. If I could keep only one it would be my desktop - because it suits me but I know some people find it difficult to live without their portable laptop or tablet. Then I would ditch the laptop. A desktop and ipad would be just fine ! This is a well balanced article on the pros and cons of each www.lifewire.com/ipad-replace-laptop-desktop-pc-1994308

Have laptops and desktops been replaced by Ipads etc? I used to be a big gamer on my desktop, with today's simulation games, one needs more screen measurement than either a laptop or an Ipad. I personally will stick with my desktop....Also, with my sight going from old age, I need the big screen.

We have 2 desktops, 2 laptops and 2 smart phones. Use the desktops 85 % of the time verses the laptop, and the smart phone is used mostly for texting, and some Facebook and very little e-mail. So I guess I would say "no iPad in the near future", and they are still a little pricey for what you get.

We have 2 laptops, 2 iPads, 1 iPod and 2 android cell phones. Each laptop is connected to a large monitor and large wireless keyboards with wireless mouse. Works well for us. We are not gamers though.

I have 7 desktops, 3 laptops and one tablet.2 desktops and one laptop are used strictly for testing Programs and operating systems. One laptop uses the Linus operating system. Windows 7 is installed on 6 of the desktops and Windows 10 on the 7th one. One laptop has Windows 10 preview fast track version as it's OS.
To me a desktop is my computer of choice

I still think that iPads haven't come to the point where it replaces laptops/desktops completely. I do prefer laptops though just due to the portability.
