Last April was a big one for Windows 10. Microsoft finally released its major Windows 10 Creators Update and it added a ton of useful features. Soon, Microsoft is expected to add more exciting new features with its big follow-up update for Windows 10, the Fall Creators Update.
The exact date for the release of this next free Windows 10 major update. That day will be October 17.

My desktop will not update to the Creators Update because, apparently, the CPU is not compatible. It will, I assume, not be able to take the Fall Update either. As far as I can see, I am not missing very much in the way of the updates. Can you tell me what the ton of useful features are?

Well I am going to do a pathetic little moan here - MS may live in the northern hemisphere but I don't, and so the Fall Update will be in the Spring for me (provided it rolls out on time) It should be the October Creators Update. Come to think of it we don't even have Fall here - it is Autumn.
Actually I wonder if MS even knows NZ exists as they still have not given us Cortana. (they say because of language issues -what? I speaka de english and can even do US or UK English if I have to !) They have managed to roll it out in Portuguese, Spanish, Chinese, Italian and French but NZ English is a problem. They even managed Australian English !
Of course there are greater things to worry and moan about but I just felt like having a complain about being forgotten about at the bottom of the world !
I most probably would not use Cortana anyway !

LOL. We DO have Autumn here, Fall and Autumn are interchangeable. This Fall Update is already late. It was originally supposed to be released in September. I couldn't find a thing on it that I need or want. Most of the articles I have read really say it is mainly an introduction to new hardware if you want it, like Mixed Reality Headsets. 3D views, My People feature and you can then add 3 icons to your taskbar so you can quickly contact three friends of your choice via Skype or Mail. Sounds great doesn't it? I can't wait. Besides learning there is a New Zealand MS also needs to realize that there are more people using computers than people 15 to 30. There are a lot of us seniors using computers who don't care about this kind of "stuff" AND..the people I know who are 15 to 30 don't use their computers to do things like that, they use their phones. My grandkids all of course use computers...for school work and pretty much nothing else. The boys have xbox's and psp's and the girls use their phones for music, email, facebook, etc.

My monthly magazine editor had a rant in this months issue about Skype. He used to use it to keep in touch with family and friends. Since being swallowed by MS though, it is now like something aimed at kindergarden and he hates it now and refuses to use it. Same as the decision here in the UK to leave the European Union. Most of the people who voted to leave will not be around when the full effects of this stupid decision take effect. The younger generation have been totally left out.

Windows 10 Creators Update does not excite me at all, nor does Windows 10. I have Windows 10 on one computer (used for testing client Windows 10 problems only) and the fast tract Windows 10 Preview on a laptop for testing. All my production computers happily run Windows 7 with no updates to Window 10 planned.
