One Crash? Why can't you use Firefox again? Never have ever heard that one crash of any browser stops you from using it again. All you have to do is find out why it crashed and fix it and 99% of the time that is very easy. Plus one crash doesn't mean it will crash again. Most of the time it is the web page you are visiting or what you are doing is the cause of a browser crash. Often it is an out of date add-on that will cause it.
What version of Firefox are you using? What happened when it crashed? Did you try to use it again and if so what happened? What were you doing when it crashed? How many tabs did you have open at the time? How many add-ons do you have installed? Did all of the add-ons come directly from Mozilla?

To answer your questions JHolland:
What version of Firefox are you using? 55.0.31 (32 bit) it was up to date. What happened when it crashed? I was not on my computer...it was close but not shutdown Did you try to use it again and if so what happened? It sent me a message Firefox crashed! What were you doing when it crashed? Cooking dinner for my husband! How many tabs did you have open at the time? None How many add-ons do you have installed? Ebates, ublock origin, Duck duck go plus Did all of the add-ons come directly from Mozilla? ublock origin ..I think
The only out of the ordinary thing that happen last night at the time I was making dinner the electric went on and off for one or two seconds. But, my computer, tv, and everything else was fine....strange...JHolland ...thank you for your quick response..You are always so helpful to me...I really appreciate it....One question...could I have three browsers on my laptop? I really do not like IE 11 and know I can remove it...Thanks again..you are so precious to me..Marie

Here is the reason your Firefox Crashed: Are you actually saying that Firefox totally disappeared from your computer? ? I have never heard of anything like that happen with a crash. Usually you can just turn it back on. Something DID happen to cause it, your power flickered. That is why your Firefox crashed. If it totally removed Firefox then you likely have actual damage to your computer, not just Firefox. You asked if you can have 3 browsers on your computer at the same time....You can have any number of browsers installed if you want. I have 6 different browsers on my computer; Edge (which comes with Windows 10) IE 11, which also comes with Windows 10, Opera, Vivaldi, CLIQZ (based on Firefox) and my default browser Firefox. Please let me know if you still have Firefox and if it is working. A big thank you too Marie for the kind words. Those were much appreciated!

Dear jHolland, Yes, I have Firefox purring like a kitten on my laptop and that makes me so happy. After I downloaded it ....it was my Firefox with my Bookmarks, add ons, thyme, etc. I don't know why it crashed...I scanned my computer with my Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, CCleaner and Free Panda Security. My computer is working fine...Thanks again!!!!

Did it disappear entirely from your computer? Firefox would rarely, if ever, crash because of an infection. Of course it can happen but doubtful but it's a good idea that you have done so. Crash Reporter dialog box Always appears when Firefox closes unexpectedly, when you personally have not closed it. It doesn't mean there is something wrong with it, just telling you that it closed unexpectedly. I have lost power before, yes, even for one second, and of course Firefox will close. I received the same pop up. I knew without a doubt the power outage caused it.

It was the only solution I had because I lost Firefox..it was there on my screen but I could not make it do a thing!

No...I really don't think I had an infection....I keep my computer up to date and clean as much as possible..

It was a grey box that said Firefox crashed

Who knows why it crash...I am so happy it is back to normal....it would happen to me....LOL...never a dull moment ..Thanks again!

Did you reboot the computer completely...as you should have done, especially since you had a power outage, even for one second? You always should totally reboot the computer when something like this happens.
The power outage disabled Firefox, it left you the "picture" of it on the screen but most likely some of the background files and services needed to run other programs, like Firefox, had been shut down by that brief power outage. You can't get those back unless you reboot the computer.

Just remember that, if and when cause power outages do happen, turn off the computer and reboot. Actually, if there is a longer power outage, unplug the computer until the power comes back on, even if you use a surge protector. After the power is fully back, THEN plug the computer back in. That's of course not possible with a quick "off/on" outage but for one that lasts longer, do unplug the computer.

It's always good to remember that a reboot or shutdown/restart of a computer will fix a large number of computer problems. It's the first thing I suggest when a client is having a problem with their computer. It's amazing how many times that's the only fix needed.
