On Worldstart someone (I think it was Judy) posted the recommended settings for CC especially under the "CLEANER" section. Are the check marks for the items to delete or to save? Any other settings needed would be appreciated.
Many thanks, DICK

If other browsers you have do show there then just put the check mark in Internet Cache. These are the only settings I use. *See Attached* Attachments:

This has been covered in two different threads here over the last week: newworldtech.freeforums.net/threads/recent/198newworldtech.freeforums.net/threads/recent/203Not sure why you "deleted CCleaner and stopped using it weeks ago" since the information about this hack was only publicly announced 4 days ago, it did involve only the 32bit version 5.33.6162 and CCleaner Cloud v1.07.3191. The CLEAN versions CCleaner 5.34 and CCleaner Cloud 1.07.3214 were released on the 15th. A second update of CCleaner was released on the 20th signed with a brand new digital signature, the only change of the release. I suggest if you want to know more about this then to read this very informative article from Bleeping Computer about this hack. www.bleepingcomputer.com/news/security/avast-clarifies-details-surrounding-ccleaner-malware-incident/ Everyone can do as they wish of course, I, for one, have no qualms or concerns about using the newest version of CCleaner.

I have always used Avast free as my antivirus program, but I had problems every time I used Ccleaner I had to change or re-use my sign ins to get into my usual sites. So, I stopped using it a few weeks ago and just make sure I use the built in "Disk clean up".

If you always had to sign back in to all of your regular web sites after using CCleaner then you were removing too much using CCleaner. If you have your browsers set correctly to block 3rd party cookies then the only thing you have to have CCleaner remove from browsers is Internet Cache. If you have it remove cookies then it removes all cookies, including the 1st party cookies that allow you to stay signed into your preferred web sites.

I did have Ccleaner set to "not remove cookies" and after a scan, I had to sign back in on my already signed in web sites. I then double checked to see if my settings were rector and I still had the empty box on "remove . After a couple times of checking the settings BEFORE using ccleaner, I still had the problem and uninstalled it. I don't miss it because I rarely used it anyway. But thanks for the new information.
