I have a NetComm ADSL2 modem, 6 yrs old and works fine,was wondering if I should update the firmware (know how to do it) or if all working well is it necessary?...thanks.

My feeling with something like this is usually go with the old saying, "if it ain't broke then don't fix it". Since you say it is working well then if it were my modem I'd hold off. But others may feel differently.
Now of course if security is involved then that is an entirely different story. Don't think this would be a security issue though, is it? If it is then by all means take it.

Thanks Judy,I read somewhere that was a good idea re the KRACK attack is a good idea to update firmware on Modems,but as I do not connect to wifi,probably best to leave alone,I am always up to date with Micrsoft updates so will leave alone....thanks for advice.

I would check out what changes were made to the firmware and if the changes are security related I would recommend you update. However if it were my modem and an update was available I would update regardless of what was updated. Modem firmware does not get updated often so the manufacturer is most likely fixing something they think needs fixing.
