Can you give me some idea Jerry of what it is that you don't understand?
Though it looks different, Avira works pretty much the way it has always worked. I have stayed with the default settings which are in place when the program is installed.
I do NOT use any of the extras offered that have to be installed in order to use them, I only use the Free Anti-virus program portion.
I do NOT use Software Updater, Password Manager, Phantom VPN, System Speedup, Safe Shopping or Safe Search. I use the Free Antivirus program only.

Here are some print screens showing you the three things you may want to access. Otherwise just keep default settings if you don't want to bother. 1st Attachment. The main interface of the program. 2nd Attachment. What you see when you click on the Free Antivirus listing 3rd Attachment. Scheduler section You can schedule a weekly scan at a time to your liking if you prefer or set up multiple scans if that is what you like to do. Choices are yours and just read the section when it opens to set things up.

Thanks Judy thats what I was wondering about All the addons so you have answered my question . Jerry You're welcome Jerry. I am sure there are others here that might use them, I just found they are things I don't want to use and never have. I have read comments in their forum that many of them slowed computers. I think some are rather redundant or overkill and not needed. But each person must make his/her own choice of course.

I am extremely distrustful of any software, reputable or otherwise that offers to speed up my computer As am I as you well know Paul. Thus the reason I use only the antivirus portion of Avira and ignore the rest. If a computer is slow then much of the time it is because there is too much unnecessary junk running all the time so why would adding another program fix things? Just stop the unnecessary stuff and your computer should speed up. A computer can only go as fast as it was designed to go and adding some sort of speed up program is going to do nothing.
