(I'm using a different device to post this) HELP! I am having same difficulty. The problem is caused by one of the add-ons I have installed but haven't narrowed down which one yet but by operating in Firefox Safe Mode (with all addons disabled) the board looks normal. So it's just a matter of narrowing down which one or ones are causing the problem. I have very few addons thankfully so I am hoping I will be able to figure it out quickly.

Ok, here is what I did. I went to Troubleshooting Information; Help, Troubleshooting Information. From there I chose Refresh Firefox. This resets Firefox back to its default set up. It removes ALL addons and resets Firefox back to "new". See Full information here: support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/refresh-firefox-reset-add-ons-and-settingsIt DOES keep the following; Bookmarks Browsing and download history Passwords Open windows and tabs Cookies Web form auto-fill information Personal dictionary It REMOVES Extensions and themes, website permissions, modified preferences, added search engines, DOM storage, security certificate and device settings, download actions, plugin settings, toolbar customizations, user styles and social features will be removed. Worked perfectly for me. I just had to "re-customize" the way I have the face of the browser set up and choose my Home Page and my Default Search engine but other than that I am good to go. I have a couple add-ons that I like that I will add back and I know those had nothing to do with this problem. I am good to go.

Judy-
I restarted Firefox in safe mode as you suggested, but it doesn't load either of your links. I also tried going to tools>Add-ons and it only showed 3 suggested add-ons. When I clicked on more, nothing showed. I'm assuming Firefox will eventually fix these, just wondering if there's a work-around.
Thanks, Mary

When you say you never had any addons, does this mean you have never used Flash Player, AdBlockPlus or anything like that? All I can suggest is that you 100% Uninstall Firefox and download a brand new copy. You should go to Add/Remove and Remove ALL listings for Mozilla, this would include Firefox and Mozilla Maintenance Service. Both of those must be uninstalled. Then to remove everything connected with Firefox do the following: This is going to finally remove EVERYTHING connected with Firefox, Bookmarks, passwords, and personal settings will be gone. Click the Start button or press the Windows key Windows Key to open the Start Menu. Type %APPDATA% (when you start typing, a Windows search will start) and press enter to open the hidden Roaming folder. Open the Mozilla folder. Delete the Firefox folder. After that then go HERE and download a brand new copy. www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/new/#download-fxYou then will have to import bookmarks and the like from IE to Firefox

I never told you to restart in safe mode, why are you doing that? Sorry the links didn't work. Scroll All the way down to the bottom of the add ons page and click the Blue button that says see more add ons. See More Addons If that doesn't work then try this link for add ons. The Mozilla site itself is VERY slow today but this link for add ons does work for me. You will manually have to search for what you want. addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/

Judy- Sorry for the confusion. I was having a problem today when I tried to click on the links for add-ons that you posted. When I clicked on them, they wouldn't load. I saw cricketm's post and thought it was a similar problem, so I restarted in the same way you had suggested to them. I clicked on the Blue button at the bottom of the Add-ons to see more Add-ons, but nothing else loaded. I tried it again a few minutes ago, and this time more add-ons showed. The links you posted also loaded this time.
Again, Sorry for the confusion.
Thanks, Mary

My “New-Updated” Firefox is working fine! … The only problem I have is viewing New World Tech ….it is scrambled. I can see it with IE 11 perfectly. I am not going to start all over….because that would be to complicated for me…. I listed what I have on my Firefox….Thanks for your help.....
Extensions DuckDuckGo Plus Ebates uBlock Origin

She had not posted in this thread before and has actually not answered the question I asked her. Never assume a problem that you see another person is having is the same one that you are having and follow instructions given to them because as you see that is not the case here. I am fairly certain the problem YOU were having really had nothing to do with your computer or your copy of Firefox. I believe the difficulty you had was a problem with the Mozilla web site itself. I checked it personally with two computers and had same troubles you had so the problem was THEM, not us.

If you had done that then the Extensions would have been gone and the Plugins would have been disabled. Sorry but the only way to correct the viewing problem is the Firefox Reset.

It isn't strange, I had the same thing happen, as did at least one other member here. It absolutely does have something to do with one of the addons because when I did the refresh and the other member here did the refresh/reset Firefox to brand new the problem was fixed. Without doing this it is doubtful that this will be fixed for you. What Theme do you have? That also is an addon and you didn't mention that. Doing the refresh/reset is not complicated and it only resets Firefox back to the way it is when it is a brand new download. These items ARE Saved: Bookmarks Browsing and download history Passwords Open windows and tabs Cookies Web form auto-fill information Personal dictionary It only removes It REMOVES Extensions and themes.

Judy.... I refreshed and/or reset FF (four times over the past two days) using your advised link listed above...and my Bookmarks, History, Passwords, cookies, etc. were saved. But so were extensions and plugins....
I Had Autumn Leaves for my Theme and changed it to WOW Fish. I thought that would help. I give up....I like Quantum Foxfire very much and it is working perfect for me. I don't mind going to Internet Explorer 11 to visit New World Tech.....It could be that I have Windows 7.0 Professional...who knows? I give up! Thanks again for your input......

IF you're happy cricketm then that is what counts!
EDIT: I have a question. In your reply #10 you said this:
Yet in your reply #14 you state this:
So you Do have addons. Why did you say earlier that you never had them? Just wondering.

An "honest" comment.....I did not know Extensions or Plugins were Add-ons....sorry for giving you the wrong information...You are always so helpful.....believe at my age I am still learning...... Thanks for the response! Here's an explanation I guess you would call it; Firefox comes barebones really. It certainly can be used without adding anything but Mozilla believes that users should be able to configure it for better viewing, things to make it easier to use, adding more security items and some things just for fun. Those things carry the general term Addons, because the users Add those things themselves. The Addons include Extensions, Plugins and Themes. Those addons are NOT created by Mozilla but by 3rd parties. It is not up to Mozilla to make those addons work with the browser, it is up to the 3rd party addon creators make their applications work with the browser and Mozilla must approve them. Mozilla tests ALL of those addons with each new version. If something about an addon will cause the browser to work incorrectly then Mozilla will withdraw its approval. It is then up to the addon creator to fix the problem. When I did the refresh of Firefox with this new version I did lose a couple addons but I could easily add back the ones I used that were still compatible. What I did find that caused the problem was the theme I was using because as soon as I checked to be able to add it back I found it listed as incompatible. I am now using the default theme the program comes with and all is well. You might want to eliminate any themes and go with the default and see if that makes a difference.

Thank you Judy for the excellent explanation about addons. That is why I like visiting New World Tech because I learn something new every day.
I did eliminate my theme (WOW FISH) and went with default....no difference!
I eliminated (plugin) Widevine content Decryption Module provided by Google Inc. ...no difference!
It is either me, my computer or FF....maybe down the road it will clear itself....I don't mind using Internet Explorer 11 to visit this site....viewing this site is my only problem with the new Firefox Quantum.
Thank you for being so kind and patient with you....I really appreciate it...sometimes I try too hard, but I love to keep up to date as much as possible....it keeps in the loop!

Cricket when you did all of the above did you totally shut down Firefox and then reopen? Did you reboot the computer? If not you should try both. I just did the update on my two Windows 7 computers and had no difficulty at all. Also, when the update was done were all addons verified to still work with this new version and automatically updated if they were not? That needs to be done also.
