MrBill, In Privacy and Security (in Options) do you have 'Remember logins and passwords for websites' checked ? There is also a button there enabling you to view your Saved Logins. In the same area under History ensure that 'Always use private browsing mode' is Not checked. It is easy to check this unintentionally without realizing. With that always use private browsing option enabled you will need to log in each time you visit a site regadless of any other settings. In reply 23 I was asked that and it was. Unchecked it, rebooted and checked it again was my reply and still the same problem.

I would recommend a Refresh of Firefox. support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/refresh-firefox-reset-add-ons-and-settingsIt DOES keep the following; Bookmarks Browsing and download history Passwords Open windows and tabs Cookies Web form auto-fill information Personal dictionary It REMOVES Extensions and themes, website permissions, modified preferences, added search engines, DOM storage, security certificate and device settings, download actions, plugin settings, toolbar customizations, user styles and social features will be removed.

Believe Eve also suggested double checking your History settings to be sure that the Private Browsing setting was not checked as private browsing will wipe out your login info each time you exit a site as is now happening to you... the Private Browsing feature could have accidentally gotten ticked by a hiccup from the browser .... Otherwise the refresh suggested by Judy shoulda/oughta/mighta work to fix the issue 😂

Fom Firefox Menus
Select the “Menu” Menu Button button in the upper-right corner, then choose “Options“. Select “Advanced“...maybe under "General" Choose the “Update” tab. Select one of the following options as desired: Automatically install updates Check for updates, but let me choose whether to install them Never check for updates:
Re the previous version mine was 56.02,so Googled it and downloaded the EXE file from the Mozilla site. I also have latest versions of IE and Chrome which can use from time to time, but Firefox is my default Browser, reverting back may frowned upon by some, but really the New Firefox was a pain with some sites, but worst of all disabled about four of my add ons which I use on a regular basis,so for me the the advantages out weighed the disadvantages.

Surprised you are even bothering with this as you've always said you only use IE. Only suggestion I have then is follow the information given by a link Everton gave in another thread and that is to revert back to 52.5.0 to continue to receive security updates. You won’t get these in 56. This will only last for 18 weeks by which time some of the add ons may have been updated. Even though you've refreshed FF and thereby removing all extensions it is possible the browser was changed by an outdated extension so even the removal would make no difference. www.thurrott.com/cloud/143917/firefox-57-come-speed-stay-text-renderingEither that or totally Uninstall Firefox and all files connected with it and download and install a brand new copy. If that doesn't work then the problem lies with your computer not with Firefox

I have had so much trouble with Firefox updates, I even reverted back to 54.01. Have a couple online sites won't let you go to "full screen", even tells you Firefox is working on it, but everything works fine on 54.01. I use WOT and am very careful on what sites I go to, haven't had any troubled for several years.

Sorry you've had so many problems with all Firefox updates. 90% of problems are caused by 3rd party addons and also corrupt profiles, both easily correctable. Not sure why you continue to use the browser if you never have good luck with it. As to using a previous version you should read the information posted by Everton, version 52.5 is the recommended previous version to use because it receives security updates, others do not. www.thurrott.com/cloud/143917/firefox-57-come-speed-stay-text-renderingsee the information in the comment section from user cuppettcj:

If it is videos you are unable to expand to full screen maybe its a flash player or video driver issue. Another thing to check it your zoom level. Pressing Ctrl + 0 will set it back to normal and could possibly allow full screen viewing again.

It is recommended that you remove WOT and don't use it again.

I have replaced WOT with BitDefender Traffic Light, also a free app.
