I am putting this in updates as it is regarding the much discussed Firefox Update.
It would be interesting to hear what your opinion is as well. For what it is worth - here is mine for you to agree or disagree with
Some of you are aware that I have in the past been in a minority here and at WS by not being a Firefox user.
I have always had it on my machines and kept up to date but very rarely used it as for me it seemed to be a resource hog and I was committed to my favourite other browser (Maxthon). Also I actually got tired of the continual Firefox updates.
Add-ons are something I dislike because from observation it is almost always 3rd party add on that cause problems within Firefox. I never ever trusted or used WOT and was proved correct (sorry to say) and Last pass used by many is another I can not bring myself to trust. I don't believe in providing all my passwords to any third party for any reason. Perhaps I am just a suspicious person.
Everyone needs to make their own decisions about those things.
So that is the moaning bit over and now I have to say I am most impressed with the new Firefox Quantum and may even (cautiously said) end up with it as my default browser. For me the incompatible add ons are not a problem as all I use is Ad Block plus which is ok, and a few extra Themes. I have to say I would prefer the speed and security of the new browser over the addition of extras.
For anyone who does need the incompatible extensions you should read this from the Mozilla Add Ons Blog which explains how to search for replacements, or failing that to revert to Firefox 52.

If You Need Them a While Longer
We understand that some of you won’t be able to find replacements for your legacy extensions. If you want to use them a while longer while you wait to see if they will be updated by their developers, your best option is Firefox ESR 52. This release is updated for security only, and should work with legacy extensions until the release of Firefox 59, which will also update the ESR release to Quantum.
