One of my good friends moved recently and is too far away for me to travel at a moments notice. He has recently started using Firefox for his default browser. His question was how to get his hp color laser jet pro m252dw and hp photosmart 7525 (also called 7520 series)to be set for default double sided printing like it did in Google Chrome. Since I can not easily travel to his place to look through his printer settings and get it set for him, I am checking with the kind and knowledgeable folks here to see if any of you are familiar with how to do this.
Thank you, Paul

Doesn't matter what browser a person uses printer settings are controlled through the printer software Not via the browser. The printer software tells everything on the computer how to print. So if he previously had his printer settings to print double sided then it will do so with Firefox also or whatever else he is using that needs printing.

The first thing I asked him was if he recently changed anything in his printer settings and his answer was no. Since he is the sole user of the computer and all that changed was he now uses Firefox, that is why I checked to see if anyone knew what he might change in his printer settings to again get it to automatically print two sided when he prints something from Firefox.

Since he is the sole user of the computer and all that changed was he now uses Firefox, that is why I checked to see if anyone knew what he might change in his printer settings to again get it to automatically print two sided when he prints something from Firefox. Has he already tried to print a web page and not have it print double sided or is he presuming that he must change settings before doing a web page print job? As I said, printer control goes through the printer software not through the browser and there would be no changes required just because he changed browsers. When he chooses Print in Firefox a box will open and he will have to choose the printer but anything else goes through the printer software NOT Firefox or any other browser. Also if he has tried and it won't work the fault may also lie with the web page he wants to print, some web pages will not print double sided but only print single sided. That can't be changed. It would help if we had full information; has he tried and failed? If so what exactly was the web page he was trying to print? This is something he will have to do himself by opening the printer software and choosing the settings he wants.

All of a sudden my HP Officejet Pro 8710 started doing the same thing for reasons unknown.. It would do two-sided (Duplex) manually, but wouldn't do it automatically. I finally did a complete uninstall and reinstall of the software. When I used the ordinal CD it wanted me to download off the website which didn't work, then I downloaded directly off the CD and it worked.
