Never heard of a program named crapcleaner. The best way to clean an old computer is to format HD and reinstall OS.

There is a program called "Decrapify" but I don't think it will do you any good. I just tried to use it on a new computer and it found almost nothing to delete.

EDIT----- bigbarney, i just installed it and it works fine, i dont know why it wouldnt earlier Why would you not install the latest version on a new (even new used)) computer? The answer was staring you in the face the whole time. Here's a hint. In your newly installed current version:- Options > Settings > Tick "Automatically check for updates"

I knew what you were talking about, I just feel that you were being being disrespectful to an excellent program and the company that produces it. As good as Ccleaner is the only way to really clean a computer of its past is as I suggested in my original post, format and reinstall the Operating System.

I believe the original name was indeed “crap cleaner” It is VERY important to keep up to date with new releases. In September version 5.33 was found to have been hacked and contained malware. A new clean version was quickly available and it was thought no home users were affected. CCleaner has been owned by Avast since July..
