A good read but a hidden advertisement for their own product which I have no knowledge of. Hadn't given it a thought, but you are right, while it is a very good read but it is an advertisement for their product and it is Not a hidden advertisement either. Right there in plain site, actually very open ads for 3 of their products, none of them free either. Emsisoft does score very well on testing with AV-Comparitives with a 3 Star Advanced Award in the Real World Protection test for this month. They have not participated in any testing with AV-Tests this year.

I would have thought that on a site entitled Emsisoft Blog it is hardly surprising that they promote their own product.Surely ?? The free version does not give real time protection but can be used as an anti malware scanner. Bleeping Computer recommends it highly. Emsisoft Anti Malware has been around since 2003 so I am surprised it is not more well known. Emsisoft Emergency Kit has a high reputation for on demand detection of malware. Report is here avlab.pl/sites/default/files/68files/Test_Free_Malware_Scanners_EN.pdfIt is free for home computers This just what I have read. I do not use i myself although did use it for a while quite a long time back in the XP days Edit: I just downloaded the Emergency Kit and ran a quick scan then a full malware scan. Attachment shows results - very fast It included scanning for rootkits
