First of all I want to say I hope everyone had a good christmas and hope the new year brings happiness for everyone. Now the question..I have a up dv6 pavillion....originally had 7 but was upgraded to 10 pro....everything works well except the HDMI port....it shows to have the correct drivers but it won't work.....it says this device is working properly.....but when I connect it to my tv it says nothing is connected to it. My question is.....is there some setting I'm unaware of that needs to be set within Windows somewhere to make it work?

I tried a few of these suggestions. I never saw anywhere where it gave the option to make HDMI the default output device. What I did see was the HDMI listed and the speakers....the speakers have the option to configure them but under HDMI the configure button was grayed out. So I'm assuming the driver don't work as it was originally Windows 7. Anyway.....I seldom use a laptop connected to a tv.... so I'm just not gonna worry about it.

Do you have the TV set to the correct HDMI input? Just a thought.

You originially said the driver was correct, now you say it is a driver for Windows 7. You need Windows 10 drivers, directly from the audio mfgr and video mfgr. Are you 100% certain that the HDMI cable is working correctly and is fully plugged in?

Usually you have to press the FN key and one of the F keys to get it to switch to the HDMI port. Sometimes the F key is marked clearly with a symbol on it and sometimes not. It is not automatic. It has to be told what you want to do.

It says it has the device is working properly..that's what I should have said instead of saying the correct driver. Since it was upgraded from 7 I saw the one for 7 listed.. but it have no drivers for 10.
