l just did this and now have no bookmarks l had a lot and need them, where did they go. Why and How did you do this? A refresh should have kept the bookmarks. When doing a refresh Firefox will save these items: Bookmarks Browsing and download history Passwords Open windows and tabs Cookies Web form auto-fill information Personal dictionary Extensions and Plugins are removed. To do this all you have to do is go to the Refresh Firefox button at the top of the Firefox about:support Troubleshooting Information page. To continue, click Refresh Firefox in the confirmation window that opens. Firefox will close to refresh itself. When finished, a window will list your imported information. Click Finish and Firefox will open. Is this what you did? Why did you feel that you had to do this? There should be a folder on your desktop named "Old Firefox Data" do you see that?

You need to say why you felt this was necessary. At the top of Firefox do you see the Menu bar??? That is what says File, Edit, View, History, Bookmarks, Tools, Help? Attachments:

Happy to help.
You still never said WHY you did this. This type of information DOES help other people. There may be other people having the same problem you were/are having that caused you to refresh Firefox. That might not have been the correct thing to do but since you won't say why we will never know.
We also don't know what version of Firefox you are using. This also is important information you did not supply.

57.0.4 no reason there was no problem That is too bad. That is something that is only recommended and used when there is a problem with Firefox. You know you will have to download & install any addons and plugins you had because those ARE definitely removed with a refresh. You'll have to also check to see if any saved passwords are gone. If so then you'll have to put them back using the instructions on the link I gave you.

l'm still reading how to do this, what do i do with the new folder when l have copied and pasted all i need. You already have the new folder it is the new Profile Folder that was created with the Firefox Refresh, you don't make another. You copy from the Old Data folder on the desktop to the new Profile folder which is what opens when you follow the directions on that link. On Firefox, Go to Help, Troubleshooting Information and when that opens go down to Profile Folder and Open it. Then CLOSE Firefox NOT the Profile folder, leave it open.
Paste the bookmarkbackups from the Old Folder to that Profile folder. Attachments:
