Hi Everyone - I hope you are all finding your way around our new home. Like most people, I am not big on change and grew quite comfortable with the way things worked at WorldStart. Sadly, WorldStart is going to the big Forum in the ether and will soon be no more. This brings us to where we are today, on our new site. In general, it works the same way, with some differences. Since this is a new platform, there will be a period of getting used to how the software works. We are all learning this new site together.
As much as I wanted to make it like WorldStart, sadly it will not be identical. The software used by WorldStart was different as well as costly. Our new home is run by more current software and is free so there will be limitations on what we can and can't provide. I know I have been working for 4 days on getting things set up, Judy and Everton have been busy as well and I would like to thank them for all of their efforts. New World Tech, above all else, is for everyone. Everyone will have a say in what is on our site. If you have an idea, bring it forward. If we can get it to work, we will. Or we will try our best to find something as close as possible.
Again, welcome to everyone who has found their way here from WorldStart. If you are in contact with others who have not made their way here yet, encourage them to head on over. At the present time, registering is open and all you need to do is verify and activate your account. I will be switching this off next week. You will still be able to register, but registrations will need to be approved before you can post. This is EXACTLY how it worked at WorldStart so it is not out of the ordinary.
The other thing I have been asked about is an RPC section. Based in the concerns folks have had, it is the consensus that we will NOT be having an RPC section. We want to focus on providing tech help. If anyone feels strongly about having one, please feel free to discuss with the admin staff.

Hi it's Byter from WS. I just registered--thank you for this new forum 👍😉. I have a quick question--how do I edit my user name? I entered it with a capital B but showing as lowercase b. When I go into Edit Profile, I cannot change it there. 😯

When I go into Edit Profile, I cannot change it there. 😯 Click on your user name. This will take you to your View Profile page. On that page you will see various buttons on the right side. Choose Edit Profile. When that opens the first tab you'll see is the Avatar tab, you can upload a personal avatar of your choosing there. To edit your Display name then choose the Personal Tab. There you can edit the display name for your account. It is pretty much cut and dry really. Just be sure that you hit Save Personal Settings at the bottom of the page for any changes you make, otherwise they won't hold.

I just posted in the Off Topic Forum but the spacing between each item came out wrong. It looked correct until I actually posted it. Supposed to be double spaced but looks like it's triple spaced.
How do I correct this for future posts?

~ Bonnie For the benefit of others you really should have linked to your thread because nobody will know what you are questioning. Here is the link: newworldtech.freeforums.net/thread/315/all-learned-noahs-ark?page=1&scrollTo=2377How did you try to get your double space? Looks to me like you hit enter too many times. I don't believe that different types of spacing even offered by Pro Boards, at least I could not find it. The only way I would know how to do this here is place your cursor at the end on a line and hit Enter. This will drop the next line down with a space between the lines. According to the ProBoard guidelines "When creating a new topic or replying to a thread, you have a variety of different ways to style your post to give it a look of its own. This is done using all of the different options available to you under the Subject area of the posting page. You can style your post to use a combination of the provided features, like you would do when typing in a word processor program" There is no automatic way to set line spacing, you will have to do this manually as I noted above. You CAN edit your post by going back there, hit the Edit button and reduce the space between sentences. It is very easy to do. Once you have reduced the number of spaces then just hit the Save Changes button on the bottom right corner of the post.

I altered the spacing for the OP just to show that it can be done by clicking on 'Edit' as suggested.

Just a heads-up about the newest Firefox browser. My old computer gave up the ghost a week or so ago and had to buy a new one. After finding and downloading Firefox for my browser, which I have used for many years, I signed in with my user name and password, and found that I had all my bookmarks and tools set as if it were on my old PC. Very surprised and happy that I didn't have to start looking for my past bookmarks. With my old mind I would have lost most of them.....Thanks for sharing. I don't know if other browsers do this, but I know I couldn't do this in the past on my Firefox.

A question Bill. Did you have everything backed up from your old computer and if so, did you transfer these backups on the new computer? I ask because there is no way it would be possible for a brand new download from Mozilla www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/new/#download-fx to contain all your bookmarks if you didn't already have a Firefox Profile Folder from the old computer transferred and saved on the new one.

The password and user name you refer to - is that for a Firefox account ? It sounds like you used Firefox sync if all your bookmarks and settings are available on your new computer. www.laptopmag.com/articles/how-to-use-firefox-synci think google chrome has a similar feature.

No, when my older computer went out, I could get nothing on it at all, and I did't have any other site to save anything from the old one. That is why I was so surprised when all my old bookmarks were on the Firefox web site as soon as I logged in to it. I know for past experience that those didn't happen before when I had to get a new computer....
