During World War II, the 22nd Artillery Supply Company of the 2nd Polish Corps had an unusual soldier among its ranks, a 440-pound Syrian bear named Wojtek.
Wojtek first came to the company as a cub, but over the course of the war he matured and was given the rank of corporal in the Polish army.
Here's Wojtek's amazing story below.

Is there another way to read this? It wants me to turn off my ad blocker, before I can read the story, which is not happening.

There is no way to view without turning off the adblocker, which certainly can be done for a one time basis. I turned mine off to read it and then turned it back on. There are just a few ads that show on one side of the page. The page is a very safe page to view, I ran it through Three web site checkers and none found any malware, spam injectors, website blacklisting or defacements. !00% clean. It's domain is also ranked 100% clean by 9 different domain scanners.
