I use Google Chrome and am on a chat room website every day.(ecatholic2000.com/chat) Two days ago, I lost the sound on that site. It is supposed to 'buzz' when new people enter and other audio sounds. I spoke with the administrator and he had no problem getting sounds in the room--so it is on my end. I checked with Chrome "help" and cannot find my issue.
Does anyone know how to correct this problem?

Do you have the web site sound itself turned on? Some sites require you to turn on the sound on their site. If you don't have that turned on then even though you have sound from other web sites you won't have it on that site. I navigated through the site and found I did have to turn on the sound there to hear various things. I am not a member there but since you are perhaps you need to check your personal profile there to be sure you have everything you need enabled to be able to her notification sounds.

I have all audios turned on (enabled). I went to IE and logged in and all sounds are there--so it is not my computer; it seems to be Chrome but I cannot get an answer from them.

Then since IE works you know the problem is likely with the Chrome browser. What version of Chrome do you have? It should be the latest version which I believe is v.64.0.3282. If you have a lot of addons then one of those may be causing the problem. You might try resetting Chrome to Factory Settings, very often this will correct problems you are having. Your saved bookmarks and passwords won't be cleared or changed.
Follow the instructions on this link:
Reset Chrome Settings to Default

I am trying to get up the nerve to do this because these things will change and I am not certain I can restore them to what they are now. I see where they show you how to restore them but again, I am hesitant.
The following settings will change back to the default:
Default search engine, which is changed back to Google. Learn how to set your default search engine. Homepage and tabs. Learn how to set your Chrome homepage and set default startup tabs. The new tab page. Learn how to set the page that a new tab opens to. Tabs you have pinned. Learn how to pin tabs. Content settings, like letting a site show you pop-ups or use your microphone. Learn how to change your content settings. Cookies and site data, like items in an online shopping cart. Learn more about cookies and site data. Extensions and themes. Because another browser works on the site as it should then this tells you that Chrome is broken. The answer is reset.
You have to follow the instructions to get things the way you want them after the reset. You did all of that when you first started using Chrome so there is nothing difficult in doing it, just time. The instructions ARE on the page. For instance you posted this:
Everything that I have put in BOLD print are instructions on that link on how to accomplish what you want AND likely have your sound back on the web page. There are a total of Seven sets of instructions on that page that, if you follow them, will give you back a working Chrome after you have reset it back to factory. Resetting back to factory FIXES the browser, removing whatever is broken.
If you don't want to do this then my advice is uninstall the broken Chrome and use IE because if Chrome is not working on one site before long it will not work correctly on other sites. Or use EDGE which comes with Windows 10 or use Firefox. None of those three would be broken and should work as they are supposed to work on the web site.
I have no other suggestions.
