Anyone have an opinion on this program ? It tells me I have all these updates for hardware and software I don't even have on my PC. It's OK for my printer It won't add my monitor to it.

I have used this a few times and found it to be quite useful in checking for updates. Which hardware and software does it say you have?

I didn't write them down--After the first one crashed my PC I looked each one up and deleted them. The only one that was any good was for my printer.

This is what is offered to me if I check for computer updates. Only one is 'recommended' the rest are optional.

This is what is offered to me if I check for computer updates. Only one is 'recommended' the rest are optional. I don't have this program because I don't have an HP computer but my three Dells have a program called Dell Support Assistant that I believe must be similar. It can be set to automatic but I keep mine set on manual because I don't want it running all the time in the background, which it does when set to automatic. I manually run it once a month. When it shows me available updates I don't get them from Dell, I go to the hardware mfgr's site and check out the offered update. Most of the time I only take them if they are labeled Critical. If they are optional I don't take them. I operate under the principle, "if it ain't broke don't fix it". The offered updates will continue to be listed until I take them so if I suddenly have trouble with display or audio or something like that and I know there is an update available then I will take it. Otherwise I leave them alone.
