Red alert in Scotland for the first time ever! I just saw this on the news and pictured you getting out your shovel!! Looks to be about 2 - 4 inches. Right? I think that you can use some advice that appeared on a TV station in Charlotte, NC when they had a big snow in January. Snow is very unusual there and people born & raised there really don't know how to drive in the snow. I cannot recall the exact wording but essentially here is the advice they gave: If you rarely drive on snow, just pretend you are taking your grandma to church. There is a platter of biscuits and 2 gallons of sweet tea in glass jars in the back seat. Grandma is wearing a brand new dress and on her lap she is holding a big pot full to the top with gravy.Be careful! Drive slowly. Cause you don't want to spill the gravy!

It looks dire. Pretty but so very cold. Son in Liverpool text’d on way to work yesterday as he waited for trains that kept being cancelled. Finally got one. Do stay warm and safe

As a Scotsmen you should know that a couple belts of scotch should cure your red alert concerns.

There was this guy and his wife and they had the radio on.(I won't suggest what color her hair was). The announcer was saying there was to be a minimum of 6 inches of snow coming. And that the rules of the city were that on the even days of the month you should park your car on the even side of the street so the snow plows can clean the street. A couple of days later there was another big snow coming, and the announcer said that today is an odd day of the month, and should park your car on the odd side of the street. A few days latter there was another big snow coming and the announcer started to say which side of the street to park on and the radio went off the air. The guys wife said to her husband that the radio went off the air before she knew what side of the street to park her car on.
Her husband told her to just leave her car in the garage today....!
