Just tried this for the first time so still learning. The log shows 33 failed files. Is this because they are windows system files?

Looks like you have gone wrong when you set it up by attempting to back up your whole C Drive. Have a look here for instructions on how to do this. It takes a while to set up correctly but once done your selected files can be backed up with a Click www.2brightsparks.com/syncback/help/creatingaprofile.htmSyncBack is not a programme for a full system back up - rather for your personal data files and folders that you select. All I back up with SyncBack are my several photo folders and my documents.. My system is backed up weekly using Ashampoo backup pro 10 which used to be Ocster backup and was bought by Ashampoo and the licence transferred.

Funnily enough Eve, my backup program of preference is Ashampoo Backup Pro 11 which I have been using for about six months. Excellent and easy to use.

I also am a big supporter of Ashampoo Backup Pro, used it for several years when it was Ocster backup and continued when Ashampoo bought it. I do nightly backups on 3 computers. I do need to try SyncBack again, I used it a long time ago and for some reason I don't remember I stopped.
