Excellent article and boy was I surprised when I followed the steps given. I generally have my FB account pretty well locked down and there wasn't much to change there but I was actually stunned to see the number of companies that I "allegedly" had interacted with so their ads would show on my FB feed...342!!! I nearly fell out of my chair! I would say the bulk of these were totally unknown to me. I removed them all. We'll see if this makes a difference. I also had some things I know without a doubt came from some of my FB friends who have their accounts set to Public so they have opened themselves and friends and family to easily have their info, contacts and pretty much everything they post stolen. I could tell this because several of them are the only people I know in a specific state so the ads for some fellow running for some congressional seat in their state had to come from their FB accounts. This is well worth anybody taking the time to do this. Will it help protect your privacy? I cannot say 100% yes but it sure cannot hurt either.
Thanks Everton for the link!

I also found some strange companies listed in the ads. Thank you so much for the push to check my settings once again. I do try to keep up with it all.
