No external devices are connected to my computer, but, in File Explorer, "Local Disk (G:)" displays, showing a capacity of 449 MB, and Used Space of 412 MB (see attachments), and "This folder is empty" appears in the window of File Explorer.
I would like to know if anyone could offer an opinion on this situation because I don't remember encountering a situation where: (1) a drive is empty and (2) the same drive shows Used Space in Properties. I don't remember seeing this drive before today.

Tell us more about your computer, how about a screen shot of the Computer or My computer folder so we can see what other drives your computer has.

Jasmine, Have you installed v. 1803? This is a very common problem caused by this update. I have seen this same problem, almost word for word to yours on no fewer than seven other help forums.
What is happening is for some people the Windows v1803 update for some reason is assigning drive letters to the Hidden Recovery Partition so it becomes visible. This has been there all along, you just couldn't see it because it is supposed to be hidden.
This can very easily be fixed.
Here are similar instructions from Microsoft maybe a bit clearer.

When JohnC_21 at bleepingcomputer.com said "No, I think this is more of a Bug" (on being asked if the phantom drive was something to be concerned about), I took it at face value. And thanks for the link!

The link is 2 years old, Aug 11 2016, but I think the fix given is the similar to the one being given in the links I posted though the fix recommended now is to remove the newly assigned name to the drive, in this case "G" drive and it will go back to being hidden as it should be.
