What a lovely place -looks very peaceful. What camera do you use Barney ? My Panasonic has a pano feature but I always end up with a too short photo. Perhaps I make it too wide.

Mine also has a pano feature but have never tried it out. Not sure what to do really. Reading the million page instruction booklet really was "Greek to me"

Press the button. hold it down. pan to the right, release button. I will give it a try. I can only try in my backyard right now but will be good practice. Wish I had asked for instruction when we were vacationing at the beach two weeks ago. Well if I practice enough maybe I can use it at the convention I'll be attending next week, one activity will be a dinner cruise on their river. Might be a good chance to see if I can do it.

Sometimes it is easier to take a series of side by side photos and then use MS ICE to join them up - its a super little stitcher upper. The easiest one I have ever used www.microsoft.com/en-us/research/product/computational-photography-applications/image-composite-editor/

I have a Fujifilm Finepix SL240. Have you ever tried taking a pano but using your camera in portrait position? I have done this a few times and you get a great pano and with height to the final image. This may not work using your camera pano mode but comes out great using ICE. Just make sure to leave plenty of overlap in your pics for ICE to work with.

I have used portrait fir stitch ups but never tried the auto pano that way. Sounds a good idea I will give it a try, thanks

Tried the pano feature in portrait mode and it did not work on my Panasonic TZ60. It told me to follow the direction of the arrow.never mind was worth a try. My canon has no auto pano feature.
