Judy pointed out in newworldtech.freeforums.net/thread/618/locked-temp-file-preventing-updates?page=1&scrollTo=4227 that links were not opening. I discovered that the forum was dropping the https:// at the beginning of links. The clumsy workaround is to open a new page and type https:// at the beginning of a new url and then add the rest of the url.
It may be related to only https urls. As a test here is a http:// url - www.mail2web.com/
and here is a https/// url - philsden.com.
Both of those open for me.
Let me try another https url. - www.microsoft.com/en-us/windows
That also opens for me. Let's try again - www.microsoft.com/en-gb/software-download/windows10
That also opens, but that same url will not open in the previous thread without the addition of the https;// preface.
Go figure.
