I been trying out this free word processor and recommend it if you want something lightweight and easy to use. It is just a 3.5MB download and installs very quickly.

My only issue with it is that the latest version is dated 2015.

It is a word processor program, generally not used online. It gets good reviews on many sites and it is noted that it has not been updated in 3 years on most of the reviews I found. I use Open Office so don't really see the need for this app. YOU personally don't need it maybe but others who don't want a suite of tools like Open Office and just want a small, simple, easy to use word processing program then this software will do them just fine.

I meant to say for me. I use spreadsheets quite a lot, so need a suite rather than just a word processor.

For many people it is quite adequate.. and the PDF features are a bonus. Open office requires 650 MB to install. It’s a heavyweight. AbleWord is lightweight. My recommendation was for anyone that wanted a lightweight application that is easy to use. It more than fulfills both criteria -
