I read this article recently and would like to check with New World Tech first before doing anything. I respect your opinions and advice . I always check here NWT before making any changes to my computers. I have Windows 7.0 Professional Laptop and Windows 10 Desktop. I prefer my laptop to my desktop. Does this information apply to my laptop and my Desktop? Any advice would be appreciated. Thank You!

First of all, a computer is a computer So a warning about something that applies to Computers, whether it is a desktop or a laptop is immaterial. Both are computers that run the same programs and do the same things. Only one difference is a laptop can be carried around from room to room, location to location but other than that they are the same. Programs that apply to only the mobility would only apply to a laptop. Other than that there is NO difference. So a warning about some sort of danger to your Computer would apply to both and same holds true for your two running Windows 7 and Windows 10.
Secondly, some of the information contained in the article you linked is nearly two months old. I know the article itself is dated yesterday so the writer must have been on vacation or something because we covered all of it here back at the beginning of August with links to lots of other information that also were from back in August. I use CCleaner and your article says there are pop up ads in CCleaner, I have NEVER seen a pop up ad in CCleaner so I am not sure where those would come in at all. There is a monitoring ability in CCleaner but if you make sure it is turned off then that is not an issue. If you follow the information given by many of us on the link you will also see we all are still using CCleaner on desktops and laptops.

The issue about the monitoring in the background was discussed here newworldtech.freeforums.net/thread/622/ccleaner-version-6575-available-downloadThat has now been corrected by CCleaner and the latest version is working as it should be. Personally. I am not ditching it. I have used it for years and never had a problem, so I disagree with the writer of the article. I also use Avast
Edit: Sorry, I need to type faster. I agree with everything Judy said as well

I will keep Ccleaner .. LOL! Of course you needed to state the facts. Sorry I took your facts in the wrong way. I thought you were asking if it made a difference the type of computer, i.e. laptop vs. desktop. But what you really wanted to know if it applied to both operating systems.
Most of the time warnings, alerts and that type of thing would apply to all available operating systems but there are times when some sort of alert would only apply to the newest operating system because of course there is a difference between Windows 7, 8.1 and Windows 10. Occasionally there could be an alert or warning that would apply to only ONE operating system and if that is the case then the warning would state the actual operating system affected.
But, generally, if a program works on ALL operating systems as, of course CCleaner does, then the alert or warning or whatever would apply to all operating systems. But of course in this case, as we said, the writer of this article is way out of date with his "facts" and any problems were absolutely corrected by Piriform for CCleaner back in August. Frankly I wouldn't rely on that web site for good information if this is normally how they do their reporting, giving warnings about something that was fixed six weeks ago.
Glad you're keeping the program, it is still very good.

I can always count on you for advice. You're welcome. Thanks for the confidence but I've "gotten it wrong" lots of times but I do try my best to get it right. Don't be a stranger! You don't have to need help or ask a question to visit. Remember too, if you know the answer you certainly are welcome to post that answer.
