Is this board still working, I don't see any activity since 2023? Did it move to something else.

Right clicking desktop isn't the way you get to Properties. You can Right Click and choose Refresh but if you cannot even do that, indicated by your comment, leads me to believe that you need to restart the computer.
When you say you turned it on, was it fully turned off prior to this or just in "sleep" or "hibernate"? Windows 10 has what is called Fast Boot. It is turned on by default and unless you turned it off then it really doesn't shut down when you choose Shut Down but goes to sort of hibernation. When you hit the power button then it starts up much quicker. If this is Windows 10 please Restart, NOT just Shut Down but Restart. Let me know what happens.

Sometimes merely pressing the "Windows" key on the keyboard will bring back the desktop icons.

Thank you for your help I now have my icons back on my desktop. Linda B It would have been nice, polite, generous and Helpful if you had stated HOW you got the icons back onto your desktop. This IS a common problem that people have and you were given several suggestions to try and if you had taken the time, likely just a minute or two, to state how you fixed it then you could have probably helped many of them. But you wouldn't take the time to be bothered to give that help to others. Sorry but that is the whole point of a computer forum, helping others, not just taking it. So this thread has helped nobody but you.
