Windows 10 October 2018 Update install DVD created. Windows Update shows the update is available. Using Windows Update I started the update a couple of minutes ago (9:09PM). Hopefully all goes well.

Mine has downloaded and is now installing. 
Edit: Install of 1809 complete and all seems well so far. It took over an hour for the installation after a very long (for me) download.

I checked back on the install process about 10:30 PM and it was waiting for permission to reboot. Told it to reboot and then watched the 11:00 news on TV. Rechecked at 11:30 and update was complete. It had 3 complaints: 1. It complained that Edge was not may default browser. 2. Suggested I use my Microsoft login and not my non Microsoft login and 3. It reported that my "Start is Back" program was not compatible with this version of Windows. All problems solved by ignoring number 1 & 2 and installing the available update to number 3.
My download went quickly as I have a very fast internet, however it took a long time preparing for the install. Once the install started it seemed to go quickly however I was not sitting there watching the progress.

My laptop is now also updated successfully. Both machines working well. The only message I had on both was to advise Home Group is no longer a feature.
Seems they forgot to remove it from the sharing options because right clicking file and selecting 'Give Access to' still lists Home Group.
I like the new feature for sharing. From the same Right click Menu you can choose who you wish to share with (I just chose 'everyone' for a picture folder) You can then send a link to it by email or I just copied the link to dropbox and opened it on the other machine to get instant access.
