Might this just be on your new machine? Mine shows up to date with most recent database since 9/18/18, total of 17918 items in the database..... By the way, don't forget to reserve a little time each day away from the new computer to spend with the family, enjoy your meals, complete some "honey do's" and get some sleep..... ..... but congrats, and hope you are enjoying it....

You may have something there. My old Vista machine quit taking windows updates after it went out of date last year. Then after I got this one, it must/might have just caught up on all updates since then. Who knows.
As far as spending time with family, it is just me and my two kids, two cats.

bigtoe is correct. SpywareBlaster 5.5 was released in May, 2016 and yes, the most current database has 17918 items in it. If you only have 492 in yours then you need to update SpywareBlaster again until it is up to date.
I am somewhat confused however, the install of SpywareBlaster on your new computer should be a brand new install, not the old one. Why would the old one be on your new computer? Plus, even if Vista was no longer receiving Windows updates SpywareBlaster would have been receiving updates IF you checked for them. SpywareBlaster works with all Windows systems going back to Windows 2000 and can be updated with all of those systems. So you should have had version 5.5 on your Vista machine with this most current update on it too.
Unless you have the paid version of SpywareBlaster you must manually check for updates every couple weeks because the Free version does not update automatically.

If I can remember correctly, the Vista machine did have 5.5 on it. When I got the machine, the person at the computer shop only put on the win essentials. I went to the Brightfoot page to get the program , and that is where it said there were updates to program and database to be installed,so I did.
Past my bedtime, be back in the morning.
I have no paid programs of any kind on my computer

When anybody first gets SpywareBlaster they first will receive the basic program with the original 400+ items in the database. Once it is installed the program then will scan the computer to check that the program itself is fully updated. Of course it is brand new so therefore it is not fully updated so it will send the users the information that there are updates available then when the user accepts these updates it will download & install the most recent updates. What you received were the updates that brought it up to the last update released, which was the Sept. 18, 2018 updates. You yourself posted right here on Sept. 10th that these updates were available for SpywareBlaster users.

When I got the machine, I asked him to put mba-m, sas, and spywareblaster on the computer. The shop tech, who is the owner of the shop, told me that sas and spywareblaster were no good. I told him I had no problem with them and he still didn't add them, so I added them when I got back home.
