First off im a person that tries to understand computers as they actually are.....not how they are said to be....what id like a true explanation of is why a 32 bit system with 2 gb. Of memory is faster than a previously attained quad core 64 bit processor with a 64 bit system... 6gb. Memory. I have always heard on here that 64 bit is faster and with a quad core processor. This laptop im speaking of is a toshiba satellite L75D A7280 17" ive had laptops that were years older that were faster with specs nowhere near what the toshiba is? Makes me feel why get a newer system with 64 bit OS and better supposedly specs.

There is little difference between 32/64 bits in terms of performance in a general sense, really depends on the programs you use, if you run nearly all 32 bit programs the 32 bit system will be faster and if you try to use them on a 64bit system they are actually limited to being able to use only 2GB of ram even if there is much more than that installed, so they likely would run slower.
The big difference is if you want to run 64bit programs, then you would have to use a 64bit system with more memory. Plus a lot more than you have mentioned will affect the speed of a computer like what all additional hardware is on the computer. You have only given the minimum information about the systems so there really is no way to compare them. Also depends on what operating system you are using. Windows 7 Starter and Home Basic do not run on a 64bit system at all for instance.
Speed is really not the only reason people change computers, what you do with the computer is really what you should use to determine what computer you use.
