Having problems with my Windows 10 install on the computer, multiple problems. Been putting up with problems and crashes since the Windows 10 upgrade.
What I would like to do, if possible, is to low level wipe the "C" drive clean and reinstall Windows 10. Problem is I only have the Windows 8 OS (built computer three week before Windows 10 was announced) but don't know how to just install Windows 10 without installing Windows 8.
I have never had a problem with a Windows OS loaded straight onto the a computer but have never been able to get a Windows OS to work when upgraded from one version to a newer version.
Any ideas would be helpful.
Thanks, Craig

The following should enable you to create a bootable thumb drive or DVD for a Windows 10 installation.

WIndows 10 allows you to reset your PC.
Go to Settings > Update & Security > Recovery > Reset this PC

WIndows 10 allows you to reset your PC. Go to Settings > Update & Security > Recovery > Reset this PC Tried that, it doesn't wipe the drive clean before reinstalling. Using that method old data files are still on the drive and maybe whatever was causing the OS problem.

Using that method old data files are still on the drive and maybe whatever was causing the OS problem. You are given the choice of whether or not to keep your files. There are detailed instructions here, including how to do a clean install by different methods. Remember your current version must be activated to ensure you can bypass a product key requirement after the reinstall. www.techadvisor.co.uk/how-to/windows/how-reinstall-windows-3535423/

It worked for me, I have reset Windows 10 PC's both saving files and cleaning files without issues.

Tired the Microsoft method as suggested, told it to wipe drive clean. Not really sure if it worked, as my personal desktop picture came back up when finished. I would have thought if everything was wipe off the hard-drive that the desktop would have come back as a blank screen.
Sorry for the long delay in getting back but took me a while to get everything back on the computer up and running.

I have seen that before even when the hard drive being installed on was a brand new out of the box drive. I think its called "Microsoft Magic"

My son just told me that Microsoft saves the desktop on a cloud somewhere, so it can load faster. Makes a little since to me, I think.
Now to work on getting my iTunes to work. One problem at a time.
Thanks all, Craig

Hang in there, rebuilding a system can take some time and lots of patience.
