My daughter downloaded McAfee Safe Connect and I wanted to remove it but I don't know how. I can't remove it in the control panel. Is it safe to just leave it on my computer or should I try to remove it? I have Avira Free anti-virus on my computer as well as Malwarebytes and SUPERAntiSpyware already. My computer is a HP all-in-one Pavilion 23.

No,it should be removed. It is totally unnecessary. Have you checked in Control Panel, Programs and Features?

Yes I have tried to remove this using the Control Panel & Programs. They won't remove it. I've searched on line for a way to remove it and there are several downloads that say they will remove it and all of it's components but I am afraid to try them. I don't like programs that mess with my registry. Do you know if any of them are safe?

I'm embarrassed. I think my granddaughter just removed it for me. If it's not completely gone I will be back.

How did she remove it, deleting the desktop icon does not remove it all.

How did she remove it, deleting the desktop icon does not remove it all. Absolutely correct. As budgall said, if your granddaughter just deleted the desktop icon this will not remove it, that only removes the short cut.
Nova, when you say "Yes I have tried to remove this using the Control Panel & Programs. They won't remove it." do you mean that it is listed there?
Do not download anything else at this time. There are good, legitimate programs available for download of course, but
I believe you already have CCleaner on your computer so you don't need another one, if so open it up and on the Left side go to Tools. When Tools opens there is a section to help you remove programs you don't want on your computer. At the top of the list you see there is Uninstall. Click on that and it will generate a list of programs installed on your computer. Scroll down and see if McAfee is listed there and if it is click on it to highlight it. When you do there are buttons on the Right Side, choose Uninstall. Follow any instructions it may give you. Once complete please reboot the computer.

Sometimes removing via Apps is an option if they can not be removed from Control Panel/Propgrams
From the Start Button select Settings > Apps. Choose the program you want to remove, click on it and then select Uninstall.
This is for Windows 10. I don't know about other OS's
