I just returned to my PC after breakfast and all my browser histories (which I use frequently) are gone. It's not CCleaner. I used the new EasyClean feature once, but never again. It's not a scheduled CCleaner job because I only have the free version, besides which I have internet history unchecked for Opera and Chrome and CCleaner doesn't recognise Avast Secure Browser?

False alarm, I think. Aside. Why am I getting a popup box here saying "Sorry. Time's Up"? Where does the pop up box come from? Have you looked in the task manager to see what is running? It has to be from something that is running.

I may be out of line here, but if you posted something over an hour ago, then tried to edit it to add or take out something after that hour, then it would give you that times up message.
