Thanks, Mary

Thanks, Mary Not sure what you find confusing. Are you using this link?
You have to fill in your name & email address to receive the download. I did this the both times I downloaded it to my two Windows 7 computers and have never received any email from them. I did it again when I got my Windows 10 computer and still have never received email from them. I have downloaded it to many friends computers and they never have received email from them.
Just make sure you Do Not put a checkmark in the box next to the message; "Receive Nitro news, tips and special offers". This site IS different as it doesn't put that check mark in there for you, you have to do it yourself. As I said, in all these years I have NEVER received an email from them.
Included in the download is two weeks of free access to Nitro Pro. At the end of two weeks that Pro portion ceases to function but the Nitro PDF Reader will continue to work just fine. I have used it for years.

Judy, I have been using Nitro Version 5.5.9.2 for years. When I follow your link, I can't seem to upgrade to the latest version. I click on the download button but nothing happens.

Barney, you did this same thing on a previous thread last year. You have scrolled down too far. When you go to my link you should first see what is shown in my attachment first. As I noted to Mary and to you in that previous thread, you have to fill in your name & email address to receive the download. After you have filled in your name and email then you hit the SMALL Blue Download Now button that is right there.
HOWEVER, you don't need another copy. your Version 5.5.9.2 IS the most recent FREE version and that is the very same one I am using. It was released in March 2016. If you want the Pro Version which is a PAID version then the Paid version sits at Version 11 and was released in July 2016 and their Nitro Pro with Nitro Cloud is Version 12 and was released June 2018. The Paid version prices start at $159 U.S. You'll have to do your own currency conversion to find out what you would pay in Scotland.

I didn't remember it being the "Pro" version. The website looked a little different than the last time I downloaded it, and I wanted to make sure it would still operate after the initial trial time period.
Thanks, Mary

Thanks, Mary Don't know when you last visited the web site. It's been pretty much the same for at least 6+ months, probably longer. If you already have it then you don't need to download it again.

I have clicked on your link Judy. In Firefox the area you have indicated in your attachment that needs name and email address does NOT appear. There is just a blank space. Clicking on the button Barney showed does nothing on my machine either. However, when I open the link in Edge, the space to fill in the information is there, as in your attachment. In Opera it IS there but not presented properly - the lines are mixed up. It is the same in Avast Secure Browser.

I downloaded Nitro from the site in Edge. Both the .msi package and the .exe file failed to install. I did get a warning from Windows defender for the .exe but chose to 'install anyway'

Sorry, don't know what to tell you except both of your problems must be with your computer because I can open the link with Firefox, Edge, Opera, Vivaldi and IE and I get the Name and Email Address portion as shown in my attachment. Also, if you note, I told Barney that by clicking on that Black Box he was clicking in the wrong place.
The Blue Download Now button is what you are supposed to click on. If I click on that black box on all five of my browsers the page scrolls back up to that spot where Name, Email are required and the Blue Download Now button appears.

Just downloaded and installed Nitro Pro. No problem or warnings at all. Problem must be on your end.

The Blue download now button is the one I used and I did fill in the name and email. It downloaded successfully but as you see from my attachments did not install.
I have just now also opened the site in Vivaldi and it works there as well. I had not tried Vivaldi before as I could do it on Edge. It is some setting in my Firefox on this computer if it displays alright on other browsers.
On further investigation I have discovered I already have Nitro Reader installed (!) - the most up to date version and I would have thought this would have been detected by the installers, but they just gave the failed notices.
I only posted the information about the absence of the filling in area on Firefox in case anyone else was having the same problem, and they can use another browser that it does display on. If I discover the problem in my Firefox I will post back but I have no idea what the reason is - my FF is kept up to date, and it does display correctly with Firefox on my laptop. It is just my PC that has the problem

The installer doesn't stop the install because what is downloaded is the Pro version, v.11 not the Free version v.5 Once installed you have both Free and Pro but you can easily Uninstall Pro, which I did do.
Well at least you've narrowed it down to the problem being on just that one computer. Will be interested to know if you ever figure out what it might be.

Well, I have given up. I downloaded on the laptop where I do not already have it installed. All was fine with the download (from the same link) but the installer was in a foreign language. The name of the installer was in English but all instructions were in something else and no place to change it so its gone in the bin for now and I may try again at another time. I believe gremlins are to blame !!
I can not remember when I first installed it on my PC - it was before 27th May 2019, the date of my last upgrade.

I am glad to know it is not 'just me'. Are you using Firefox on the different desktops Barney ? Did you try any different browsers on any of them ?

Then it must be some setting on those computers cause I have three computers and that email box is visible on all three of them. You didn't say if you tried other browsers on those computers but I can say, as I did earlier, I have Firefox, EDGE, Vivaldi, Opera and IE on my Windows 10 and the other two computers are Windows 7's and of course they do not have EDGE but the other four browsers all DO display the email box on that page. So there is some setting on your computers cause it is not the web site cause I see it just fine.

Laugh you may - just remember what sent me insane !! Anyway I have solved the problem of the missing name and email spaces ! I went into Firefox settings and changed 'Content Blocking' to the 'Standard' option whereas before I had 'Custom' settings and now the fields appear. Barney - check your Firefox settings The foreign language shall remain a mystery for now.

The foreign language is certainly a mystery though because the downloads come from Cleverbridge which is based in Chicago, IL, USA

Nitro Software Inc (US)is where I went as per your link although - there is a Nitro Australia in Melbourne and even though they do 'talk a bit funny' across the ditch in Australia the language appeared to be something like Turkish !
I may try to replicate it on the laptop some time, it is installing a Cumulative Update just now. I hope it is in English !

You are hilarious! We watch a lot of Australian AND NZ TV programming and love both accents. Honestly we don't notice a big difference between the two and we do notice a difference in the accents from all of the various UK countries and, have to confess, we do turn on Closed Captioning very often with different shows cause we have a hard time understanding the actors. Of course there's a big difference in accents here in the U.S. depending on the state you live in and yes, at times Closed Captioning could be used with some folks.

I also did the download by filling the name and email address. I also saw a link for a 64 bit version so I also downloaded from that link and then installed from the 64 bit download. The installation was done in some unknown language and after attempting to start the program all I got was a blank screen.
I uninstalled the 64 bit version and then installed the original download. The install program installed the 64 bit version and everything appears normal

I only know cause I downloaded it after your download and ran one of the install sentences through Google Translate.
I am not sure why that would be but that is the language. I did find this information on 32 bit vs 64bit
I am going to post a question about the Slovak language in the 64bit version. Will let you know if I get an answer.

My install was to the Nitro folder listed in the Programs File folder of my 64 bit computer, at least that's where the exe file NitroPDF.exe resides. A Nitro folder was also set up in the Program Files (x86) which contains .dll files and other supporting files. I don't really care how it sets itself up as long as it runs well.
