I have used Firefox browser for years without any problems, but recently my online banking has been messed up. ( The site had _t. widgets before each entry and my log-off disappeared.)
When I checked with my bank's tech department they advised to clear my history, which I did, and it fixed the problem for a day or two and then the same problem occurred. When I checked with the bank's tech dept. again, they said it was a problem with Firefox update, since the problem didn't occur when I tried the site with MS Edge browser.
I have several questions.
Does this sound right? Is there another solution? Is there a reliable link to add AdBlock Plus to the Edge browser?
I haven't used Edge very much, but I suppose I could just use Edge for my online banking.
Thanks in advance for your help.
Mary

Explain please what you mean by "_t. widgets"
I too have used Firefox almost since the first day it was released. I also, at one time, had problems on my credit union site with Firefox, there were actually portions of the site that I couldn't use. My credit union even had me bring my two laptops out to them and I sat with their tech person for several hours trying to find out what the problem was....we never found it. He was stumped though since I could access every other site I wanted to access using Firefox he said it had to be something with their site that Firefox didn't like.
So for maybe six months I used another browser to access my credit union but with each update I continued to check and see if it finally worked on that site and, "low and behold" one day it finally did. That was several years back and I have not had problem one with it since...BUT the credit union also totally made over their website so whatever was on the old one obviously is gone because I use Firefox on it now without trouble. Until it DID work I used another browser on my credit union web site.
So the answer is yes, likely something with the latest update...presume you DO have the latest update on Sept. 3rd, which brought FF up to version, 69.0, "doesn't agree with" your banks website.
One thing about Firefox it is extremely safety conscious and it configured that way and there are just some things on some websites that cannot be used. Oddly, much of the time it is some sort of banking site. I have never had trouble with any other web site when using Firefox
EDGE wasn't available then but it is an excellent choice. If you use EDGE and navigate to adblockplus.org then you can get AdBlockPlus for EDGE. That site is the ONLY site where you should get AdBlockPlus for any browser, just go there with that particular browser.

Thanks Judy.
It's hard to explain the _t. issue. Those characters appear before all the choices to click on to view account information.
It sounds like the same problem that I'm having, and it is also with a credit union. I'm going to use the Edge browser for my banking and thanks for the Adblock plus link. I've installed it and it seems to have removed the annoying ads. Once again, thanks somuch for your help.

Thanks Judy. It's hard to explain the _t. issue. Those characters appear before all the choices to click on to view account information. Now I am really curious. Can you give us a print screen? I never had any odd characters I just couldn't navigate to a couple of the sections of the site. Presume your site has similar sections....Bill Pay, Savings Account, Checking Account, Money Market, Credit Card, Bill Pay sections. I could never get to the Bill Pay or Credit Card Sections, I would get "your log in failed" messages, even though there was no login required to go to different sections.

Judy- I'm not very good at screen shots and I've been trying to bring up the screen shot to show the problem, but I had a hard time trying to remove personal banking information from the screen shot. Now I'm having trouble adding the image. Attachments:

Thanks for the reply, budgall and I both appreciate it so we can know what we are working with.
It appears that it is possible the web site coding may be at fault, or at least the way your Firefox is seeing it. Here are several suggestions;
You said your credit union said to clear history but what you likely should have cleared are Cache and Cookies for that ONE web site.
To do this go to Tools>Options>Privacy & Security>Cookies & Site Data>Manage Data.
You will get a box that looks like my attached.
In the search box right there type the name of the web site. You should be shown an entry for the web site. Highlight it by clicking ONCE on it and then hit the Remove Selected button. Then hit the Save Changes Button
This will remove all old cookies and the cache for the site. Go to the web site and see what happens. If it appears to work then let us know ASAP so we don't have to keep looking for solutions to a problem that has actually been solved.
Of course if it only works for a short time do come back, that ARE other suggestions you can try but I am not listing those unless they are truly needed.

Judy-
I followed your instructions to remove cookies and cache from the site, but it didn't change anything. I'm going to as you did in the past and just use the edge browser, and check back to see if the problem solves itself eventually.
Thanks for all your help, Mary

Thanks for all your help, Mary After doing that did you completely close down Firefox and then re-open and navigate to the site again? If you did not then you again need to clear out the cache & cookies for that site. Close Firefox. Then open it back up and go to the site again. It should go to the site just like it was the first time you've ever visited. Try that.

Judy-
I did completely close down Firefox, in fact I then restarted my computer went to the website and had the same result.
After a few hours (Just now ) I went to the website and the problem was resolved!
I sure hope the resolution isn't temporary.
Thanks again for all your help, Mary

I have no reason to think other wise but I like the speed on edge do you all think it's safe for online banking. I see no reason why EDGE wouldn't be safe to do pretty much anything. It is extremely safe and gets excellent safety rankings on most studies I have seen, often ranking higher than Firefox and Chrome. I have used it on my credit union site without any concerns at all.
