Have no idea why AdBlockPlus would disappear because it certainly still works with Firefox 70.0. Many add-ons will disable, temporarily while the update occurs and occasionally you will have to manually re-enable them. Have you looked at your Add-ons?
Tools, Add-ons, Extensions. Maybe it was disabled. If so just click on it and re-enable it. If it is missing then you likely were not running the most recent version. You can get that HERE
Now for activating Flash, that is what you have to do in order to use it. Flash has been known for many years to be risky to use but some web sites still require it, though that number is going down. So in order to keep users safe most browsers today keep flash turned off unless it is needed and then you will have to enable it. Once you leave the web site that is using it then it will automatically turn off until the next time you need it. There is NO way to leave it enabled all the time as far as I know.

I don't think you understand nobody told you not to run it and no matter where you live if a web site needs it then you will have to enable it because it only runs on the Sites that need it.
Go to the site and you will get a prompt to turn it on and then all you have to do is Enable Flash on whatever site you are told it must be enabled, hit the button and it turns on. Attachments:

Got it going Thanks... have never had to do that been using this comcast site for many a year... happy happy happy thanks.... And this is because you probably were running a version older than version 69 and beginning June 15, 2019, with the install of version 69.0 All users have been required to enable it when needed. Otherwise it is automatically turned off. There is no option to leave it turned on and this holds true for virtually all browsers.
As you will see, web site developers are being encouraged to migrate away from Flash on the sites before 2020 because Flash support will be removed from Firefox and other browsers in 2020. There are very few browsers today that do not operate as Firefox does concerning Flash content. I have 5 browsers on my computer and the only one that does not require Flash content be enabled is IE 11. ALL others do require this, Firefox, EDGE, Opera, and Vivaldi.
