For the record, i am not and never have been a regular user of ccleaner. On rare occasions I have installed it, used it and then removed it if I felt it would help solve a problem. I have not used it since Avast purchased it.

I use it and never stopped when it got all that bad publicity. I have had zero problems. I think MUO has a snitch against Avast as well, which I also use. I do not use the registry cleaning component. I do intend to continue with it but everyone needs to make up their own mind I guess. I do not know personally anyone who has experienced any problems but that is not to say it is without fault.
