What do you think of the new Microsoft Edge ? Just as I was shutting down to go for dinner and this notice popped up. Thinking it was something simple I opened it and got a BIG surprise. I'm trying to see what is going on and the wife is hollering "It's time to eat" Has anyone gone into it more then me ? It seems to be O.K. It's something that is going to be more then a few days to get used too.

Interesting that I only learned this was out there. I only learned about this last night. First thing I'm going to do is see if I can back out of this if I don't like it.

It is possible to have both the old Edge and the new Edge. Personally it is not something I would attempt. It requires registry changes and is not recommended by Microsoft. If you have been using the ‘old’ Edge already you will notice little difference in everyday usage if you upgrade. Your old Edge settings, favourites etc are automatically carried over. My husband has been using it for several days without noticing anything except that the icon is different ! If you do not want it follow the instructions in the other thread because it will arrive via windows update in time anyway unless you use the blocking tool offered by Microsoft, which is in the link I gave in the previous thread.

Favorites and favorites bar--Also while I got you--I would like to make the text smaller in the favorites bar smaller so I can see all my items at once like I used to in the "old Microsoft edge and the line above, I forget the name for that at 82 my brain forgets things and names of stuff. I asked in Bing and the close as I got it says it can't be done.

I asked in Bing and the close as I got it says it can't be done. I am not sure what you mean. The only way to make the text smaller in the Favorites Bar is to make all the text in Edge smaller which you can do in Settings (click on the 3 dots ... on top right of address bar). Then click on "Appearance" from the list on the left - you will see an option to change the text size. The default is Medium.
You can also make more Favourites fit on the Bar by just having the Icon without the text. To do this right click on any one of your favourites in the Favourites Bar and select "show icon only". You willhave to do this individually for each one) Any that do not fit in can be seen by clicking the down arrow on the sight of the Favorites Bar.
The line above ? Do you mean the menu bar with File Edit View etc on it? Microsoft Edge does not have a Menu Bar. Never has. If you really need one then you will have to use another browser such as Firefox or even go back to the old IE. You can still use IE but it is not recommended. Type Internet Explorer in the search box to open Internet Explorer 11.
