Son's computer (Dell Inspiron 5755) needs a new battery. I'd appreciate suggestions on where the best place to buy on line for a cheaper price than Dell.com.

Since I can't edit my original post because it tells me time's up......
I've looked at a few computer battery places on line and even though the right computer model is listed I'm still afraid of getting something that won't be compatible with the computer. I sure don't want to get one that will blow up like some have been known to do in the past.

I had the same concerns the first time I bought a battery online, I got mine from Amazon as I said before, but as long as it lists the correct computer model you should be ok. Key thing is be sure it looks just like the one that is in there now, size and same specifications and be sure there is the option to return it if necessary. Don't know what prices you have found but Amazon has one right now for $33, about what I have paid from there. Laptop Battery M5Y1K for Dell Inspiron 5755 |

Just make sure that the specs that are on the batter are the same. Below is an example of what you should be looking at. This may not be the exact same specs as your battery.
