If you are viewing this site on a smart phone or tablet you can switch to the mobile version with the link at the very bottom of the page. To return to desktop view there is a desktop link to the right at the bottom of mobile page beside the Dashboard link (by viewing your dashboard you can see if you have any messages or notifications waiting)

Sorry Eve I don't see either link What are you viewing on ? I am presently on an iPad and the words 'Switch to mobile version' are visible. If you are on a pc or laptop I think you will not have the option. The first attachment is from the desktop version and the second is what you see on the mobile view to switch back . Attachments:

Think this must be an iOS feature?

This is something I don't know. I don't have an android device to compare.. maybe someone else will. I was using Safari so downloaded Firefox to compare and it is the same. I have searched the help section as well.

I hope someone else can throw some light on this. I have not downloaded any mobile app - I just saw the link on the page.

I am currently looking at the forum on my iPhone 7plus using the safari browser. The "Switch to the mobile version" link is there. When clicking on that link, you are then taken to the mobile version. To switch back is just as you said. The Desktop link is to the right of the Dashboard link. Works ok on IOS. Not an android user so i cannot shed any light on that system for you.

Think this must be an iOS feature? It would seem that way. Three lions has confirmed he has the links also in iOS. I find the feature very useful for my iPhone. On my iPad mini the regular view is fine .

When I was away last week I only had my Kindle Fire Tablet and I could easily see and use the Mobile Version. The only browser I can use on the Kindle is Silk browser which is the default browser for the Kindle Fire Tablet.

As I said before, I am sending this message from my Samsung Android tablet and have no need to switch to Mobile Version. The links you mention don't show. Same applies to my Android cellphone.

Kind of a moot discussion as there is nothing that I have found yet that sets desktop and mobile versions within the admin panel.

Only thing I have found is a post on the ProBoards Forum from 2013 which states the following: v.5 Mobile View (non-app) Other than that I found nothing or I am not certain what I should be looking for.

I saw the pictures when she posted them. I also said I see exactly the same options when using my Kindle Fire Tablet, which runs Fire OS 5.4 is an Android-based mobile operating system but not the same as other Android devices. The Kindle Fire OS is used Only on the Amazon Kindle 5th generation products and higher, no other Android product. My husband has a Samsung GALAXY Tab 4 and the mobile option is also shown on his browser. He uses Firefox usually but it is also visible using the Galaxy's built in browser too. So I'm not sure why you cannot see the options Barney because they are visible options seen on the two mobile devices that I have for use.

I am not really concerned about not seeing options which I don't need. Both my Android devices work perfectly here without having to select the options. Does the forum look any different when you select the mobile option?

Sorry, guess I misunderstood. I stand corrected. I wasn't having a go Judy! I have logged in again using my phone but this time I logged in by opening Firefox first. Lo and behold, the option to select Mobile or Desktop has appeared! The Mobile option does look a lot more user friendly. I normally log in to all websites using Roboform Password Manager and the options don't appear!........Go figure! Not sure which browser my Androids default to via Roboform.

I am going to "guess" here but since you could not see the options without using Firefox I am betting that the info I found at the ProBoards forum applies to you So to me that means, unless you use a 3rd party browser like Firefox or whatever else, then you won't see those options because your device is using its built in browser and no actions are needed or offered to you. Use a 3rd party browser you'll receive the option to use the Mobile view.

Isn't that the truth! At least we keep our brains exercised. I just noticed that the 'Recent Threads' window does not show on the mobile version.

No it does not. Likely because mobile devices have smaller screens than computers so mobile device screen area is at a premium so you'll see only what is vital for to use the website. The 'Recent Threads' window is not required for the use of the web site, it is an optional Plug-In chosen when the web site was built.
