We had a break in years ago way before computers. We were out of town for the week and had a friend checking our mail, etc. He arrived to find the backdoor "chopped" open. He called the police of course but couldn't tell them what might be missing. He boarded up the back door and the crooks broke in again that night by tearing the wood off the door. That night they were there a very long time, probably several hours because went through our whole house, searching through books and we know that because the encyclopedia's were out of order on the shelf. They took all of our bath towels, and took a pillow case off the bed (probably to carry the "loot") they emptied our girls piggy banks, took some sterling silver bowls and a tray. Took tools of my husbands and some jewelry of mine. Plus...they cut the telephone wire!!!
Only "nice" thing they did was use an ash tray rather than drop their ashes on the floor! We found a cigar butt on the ground outside the back door! Nobody in our house smoked cigars.
Never found out who did it and none of the items were pawned in our town anyway. Scary for sure.

Oh my oh my, your problem was much worse than ours. Glad it was also before computers. I think that those devices are pretty well the first thing the thieves go for. Hope we stay all safe. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Yayyyyyy, I am not the ugly stepsister any longer! 1809 finally arrived this morning. It took nearly 4 hours but there were no problems. I just checked for updates now and was surprised to find some already. They got installed as well. I am now a Happy Camper. Thanks for hanging on there with me Vera

I got a another 1809 update this AM (KB4482887), now at Build 1809 17763.348 on my 2 Windows 10 computers. Installing on my pc now along with a cumulative update for net framework. Please remember that updates are rolled out over time and and it could be some time before this latest update arrives on your machine. That is nothing to worry about and Microsoft always advises in general for everyday users to wait for the automatic download

I live near Silicon Valley and do seem to get Windows updates as soon as they are released. Great to get the updates first but we also are the first to the bugs and Microsoft's screw-ups. I also got the net framework update

I received mine this morning too. 🤗 Glad to hear you didn't have to wait long, hopefully your update delays are over. Microsoft really messed up with the October 2018 update, hope they learned from it and do not mess up the April 2019 update. I guess time will tell.
